Hm.. I'll try to give you the ansi history. It's a graphic standard for MSDOS. Really just to make the text in the command prompt to use colors, blink and be able to make easy animations. Soo its really text documents with some colorcodes. which makes them small in size = fast to load. they were used in bbs:es before the internet. And the bbs menumaking and introscreen making evolved into an artscene with monthly pack releases of ansi art. when the bbs-scene was replaced with the internet ftps, web and mail ppl continued to draw but then it was just for the sake of the artform. I begun to release my work in 1996, back then i think the scene was on its peak. from there it has gotten smaller and smaller for 30-40 pack releases / month to 3 or 4. but the medium is still evolving.
great work!
I just realized there is an ANSI section, and was wondering.. what IS ANSI?
nice stuff!
